Kim Young, RDH, BSDH

Kim began her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in West Virginia. After relocating to Chattanooga, she pursued dental hygiene and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Chattanooga State Community College in 2002. Her professional journey then took her west, where she gained clinical experience in both Arizona and Montana before returning to the South in 2014.

Upon her return, Kim joined the faculty at her alma mater, where she has been teaching ever since. She currently co-coordinates the first-year dental hygiene students and finds great fulfillment in mentoring them through their pivotal first year of professional development. In 2024, she achieved a long-time personal and professional goal by completing her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene through East Tennessee State University. A dedicated member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) for over 23 years, Kim is honored to serve as President of her local component. She is passionate about supporting her fellow officers and inspiring increased involvement from colleagues across the profession. She believes that in this dynamic and evolving time for dental hygiene, a strong and unified voice is essential to continued progress. Outside of work, Kim has been happily married to her husband, Tye, for 33 years. They are now enjoying the “empty nest” phase of life with two sons in college and a daughter working for Patterson Dental. In her free time, Kim loves outdoor adventures, including hiking, biking, paddleboarding, and reading.

Katie Radkay, RDH, BSDH

Katie began her career in the dental field in 2024. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She appreciates the connections she makes with her patients and loves being able to educate them on their oral health. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, yoga, tennis, and disc golf.

Demetria Wilkes, RDH, BSDH

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Demetria is a dedicated dental hygienist committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. A proud native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, she earned her A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene from Tennessee State University/Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 2001. The following year, while working part-time in a cosmetic dental practice, she continued her education by pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Throughout her career, Demetria has remained actively involved in the dental profession. She has been a longtime member of the ADHA and has proudly served as a delegate for her local component for nearly a decade. She is passionate about patient education, preventive care, and creating meaningful relationships with every patient, ensuring each person feels comfortable and valued during their visit.
Outside of the office, Demetria enjoys traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and giving back to her community. She has been happily married to her husband, Jimmy, for over 22 years, and together they have two wonderful daughters and an athletic son.

Tami Zuidema, RDH

After 15 years in teaching and administrative roles within a local preschool program, Tami felt ready to take on a new challenge. In 2022, she returned to school at Chattanooga State and graduated summa cum laude with an associate degree in dental hygiene. She enjoys the unique and rewarding challenges that dental hygiene brings each day. Connecting with patients and teaching them how to care for their health is one of her greatest joys.

Tami has been married to her husband, Dan, for 25 years. Together, they have four wonderful children: Lauren (20), Nate (18), Joey (16), and Jake (14). She enjoys family vacations, a good cup of coffee, and long conversations with friends.

Gracen Rogers, RDH

Gracen just began her third year as a Dental Hygienist. She enjoys building authentic relationships with her patients in order to provide the best care possible. When she isn’t saving smiles, you can find her hiking with her sweet pup Charlie, at the lake with friends, or traveling with her husband in search of the world’s best tacos.

Amber Litviak, RDH

Amber started out in the dental field as a dental assistant in 2020. After working in pediatric dentistry for a year, she returned to Chattanooga State to study dental hygiene, graduating with in the class of 2023. Outside of work, she enjoys playing video games, singing, spending time with her cats, and hanging out with friends.

Shelley Bergholcs, RDH, BASDH, FADHA

Shelley serves as an Assistant Professor at Chattanooga State Dental Hygiene, where she has been a faculty member since 2021 and currently holds the position of First Year Clinic Coordinator. She teaches foundational and advanced hand and powered instrumentation, infection control, local anesthesia, and several other core dental hygiene subjects. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she chairs the Exposure Control Committee, serves as the First Year SADHA advisor, and acts as the Liaison to the Chattanooga Dental Hygienists' Association.

Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Shelley worked as an Adjunct Clinical Dental Hygiene Instructor at St. Petersburg College and Georgia State University, Perimeter College. She brings extensive clinical experience from her 25 years as a private practice dental hygienist, including nearly five years practicing in Zurich, Switzerland.

Shelley is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and became an ADHA Fellow in 2023. She previously served as President of the Florida Dental Hygienists' Association from 2015-2016. She earned her AASDH and BASDH degrees from St. Petersburg College and is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Tennessee, Martin.

Married to Andy Bergholcs since 2001, Shelley enjoys travel, hiking, glamping, and spending time with friends and family.
